The Power of Belief!!

Trump's administration has me rethinking the argument made by William James in the early 1900's, namely, that facts only come into being because of our preliminary faith in their coming. That is to say, if we believe in say climate change or the "need" for gun control, than those facts will follow. However, if we do not believe in such things, i.e., if we believe climate change is not real or that gun control is fascism, then those too will become facts.

Interesting stuff uh?? What do you all think? Here is a short clip from James's "The Will to Believe" about how two or three people can rob a train full of citizens, simply because they "trust" one another. Sound familiar? What is Trump always saying about the need for "trust" among his appointments? Just a fun Monday thought . . .
