Yorkshire terriers - Tiny bottles stores the strongest poison!
December 2016 was not a good month for us as a family. We had a terrible ordeal when burglars broke into the house and stole most of our belongings. They poisoned our German Shepherd outside and while we rushed to the vet, burglars literally walked into the house and took all the computers, chargers, phones and other electronic stuff that they could get their hands on. Unfortunately even after the dog spent two whole days at the vet, and a lot of money... the dog still passed away. We were all heartbroken. It was just before Christmas. It was a terrible and sad time. We were all scared and stressed and it wasn't the best Christmas ever...
A week after Christmas my husband bought me a new puppy. He was the cutest little thing ever. He was so tiny and totally opposite of the dog we previously had. I was reluctant to replace one dog with another ... but this puppy was something else. He crawled into our hearts from the first day we've had him. He is a small breed dog and literally the cutest thing on earth. Jinx is a Yorkshire terrier puppy. He now rules the household but honestly I wouldn't trade him for the world!!!
This is Jinx. He is the cutest little thing on earth...but he has the heart of a lion!
What you should know about Yorkshire terriers?
- Yorkshire terriers were originally bred for catching rats in mines underground.
- Yorkie's are hypoallergenic because they don't shed like dogs with fur.
- Yorkshire terriers are still terriers....although they are small, they are very tough little dogs. They are not afraid of anything! They will not think twice to take on a bigger dog. (You know the Napoleon complex?)
- Yorkshire terriers might not be suitable for very small kids, because they do bite, and they tend to attack when they are annoyed.
- Yorkshire terriers are friendly and outgoing little dogs, but they are very alert and bark a lot. (I can promise you that if anyone touches the door in my bedroom now, they will be attacked....or at least I will be awakened in time to prevent any further burglaries.)
- Yorkshire terriers are trained very easily. At eight weeks, Jinx was able to go fetch a ball and bring it back so we could throw it again.
BUT......
- To own a Yorkshire terrier is hard work. They need to be bathed regularly and they need to be brushed every day.
- They don't need a lot of space but they need a place where they can run around to get rid of excess energy.
- They need to be fed regularly with a good quality dog food as they can get low blood sugar and that could result in the dog going into a coma.
If you are willing to take on the responsibility of owning a Yorkshire terrier it might be one of the most rewarding experiences in your lifetime.
Who can not love this little face?
We often take Jinx down to the beach and believe me ....he is a runner! I take him everywhere with me, but I also take my children with because this little dog is also a little magician and can disappear faster than you can imagine!
When we go down to sit at the beach and have an afternoon drink after work, we usually take Jinx with us, but we keep him in the car with us...

Jinx is absolutely adorable!
I cannot believe how horrible humans can be especially right around the holidays. So glad you are past the bad stuff and finding love with this little one.
He is definitely the cutest dog on the planet. Yes...insurance paid out and we could replace all the stuff. Got new eveything! So I now see the breakin as a blessing in disguise. Very unfortunate about the dog but we have to look forward!
I'm so sorry for your last and for the bad events, but this new puppy is really a sweety! ^_^
Hi @silviabeneforti life happens and we get over things...but isn't he just the cutest dog on earth???
yes, he's the cutest dog on earth and watching his pics I need to cuddle and hug him ^_^
Growing up we had yorkies and my mum insisted they had a ribbon in their hair that would always fall out when me or my brothers had to take them a walk. I saw them chase off much larger dogs such as German Sheppards or Dobermans, they really do have full blown small dog syndrome. They are a very loving dog and far braver than the Shepard we have now who is scared of everything despite his size.
They are extremely fierce little dogs. We have one German Shepherd left but after the other one was poisoned this poor dog is scared of everything. If there is something outside or walking past, she will literally run to come and hide in the house. I am sure that the burglars must have hit her with something but she is terrified of everything. We now have the little one inside and he doesn't take nonsense from anyone or anything...lol!

Cute little fellow.
Oh he is cute....lol...and naughty!
Very cute puppy. So sad that human even don't spare the cute animals and can take away their life so easily for few hundred dollars (how long those thieves had lived on the stolen money?). Very happy that bad days turned good for you very quickly @giantbear.
I love the photo with sand on his nose. Just too cute for words.
I am so glad I have him...will send you video on Skype where he digs in the sand on the beach...lol..
That sounds so adorable. I've opened my Skype, so if you send I'll see it pop up.
I'm so sorry about your dog. Hopefully karma will find the jerks who did that to your home. Your new friend is an adorable little critter though. I love a nice yorkshire terrier. I've had chihuhuas and it's always the tiny dogs who are "lions." Fierce little things.
Oh he is the cutest thing ever! Karma found 2. One was killed by his own community when he tried to use my husbands fire-arm in another robbery. The other one was killed when they stole a car and rolled it in their getaway.
Dang. They really did find karma! Such a waste of life to rob and die from their choices.
