My 800th Post Is For Those Who Need Us!

in #life7 years ago (edited)

So today, all Muslims in the world celebrated Eid. For those who don't know about Eid,

Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allah's (God's) command to sacrifice his son Ishmael. Muslims around the world observe this event.

Most of us (Muslims) have actually forgotten the true message that lies behind this event. What's the true message? There are many schools of thought that have defined the purpose of this event but to me, the message is to help and feel for the poor. We normally celebrate Eid dancing, partying, eating a lot of food and going out with families but aren't we supposed to do something else?

So today, I decided to do something new. After meeting with @beingnaveed, I went to slums to see how the poor is celebrating this event. Are they happy as we are or it's just another day for them.

This post has two objectives

1) To show the living conditions of most of the people around the world.

2) To imagine what happens if we would have to live the same life?

3) How can we play an important role in making these people's lives better.

The first two objectives would be achieved after you will see some of my pictures I took.

1) Imagine if you have to live here, no luxurious room, no bathroom, no dinning room with expensive furniture! How would you feel?

2) Some people live here with their children, we call them beggars, homeless people and often blame them for their current situation. Is there anyone in the world who would wish to live in such a situation?

3) Preparing dinner for the family on a footpath, they don't have a list of items their children don't like. They have to eat whatever they have!

4) Some children who are unsure about their future, infact they don't know what the future is. I wish they would be able to change their circumstances and live a good life! May be there is someone who would help them get out of this situation, may be!

What's our role? What we can do?

I know the circumstances of these people can't be changed over night but to make it happen, we actually have to START thinking of all the ways to make their lives better. I have some suggestions for those who thinks in the same direction.

1) Take out a percentage of your monthly income and distribute among those who you think deserve your money. No need to distribute 50% of your income, rather 2% would do if you are consistent with this.
2) If you are financially strong, then you can help a whole family, fulfilling their needs, bearing all their monthly expenses and make them happy. At the same time, helping a person start his own small business would be a long term benefit they can gain with your money. Imagine if all the rich people start doing this, would we be able to see any poor on the streets?
3) You can help poor children by educating them, educate them with some skills (Coding, digital marketing, networking etc) that will help them earn and create a better world for their families in the future.

Point one is what I have been doing for almost 2 years and I have a plan to expand this idea, get funds locally and implement point 2 and 3 to make people's life a better place to live!

Remember!

You'll be happy if you make people happy!

Please resteem if you think this can work in your country as well!

This is very nicely put.
Thank you for raising this idea which we can implement to make lives of the less fortunate better.

After reading this post, there was a pang of sadness in me. Everyday, we take so many things for granted and whine about so many things not realizing what a great number of population in our country is going through. If we look at them, we can undoubtedly say that we live luxurious lives. We all need to be more grateful and giving because we've been blessed with so much that we can't even explain.
Thanks for writing a beautiful post with a lesson!

You have a plan! That's the best part about your personality, Mujtaba. A very few of us have a plan, which is a point to ponder. I am proud to have you around as a friend, as a Steemit mentor, as a guide, as a brother :)

Thanks @fareehasheharyar, let's start helping the poor and make their lives better!
