Human Consciousness and the Onion
Human consciousness is like an onion. When it realizes its an onion, the ego becomes aware of itself. Then it finds out there are layers of the ego to peel. And when it decides to peel all the layers, it discovers that the center is empty and that it is no longer an onion.
