Tip of the Day 5. Market day in Chirivel; and a little about my Life in Spain. What a great country!
It’s Friday, yeh….Market day in Chirivel. I love the market and go down to see all of the yummy fruit and vegetable stalls. This time of year in Spain is when all of the new crop fruit and vegetables are appearing. I love this country; I have never eaten so well and at such a small cost; everything tastes wonderful.
Back home to complete the bag I am making; and work on my snap purses, glasses cases, makeup bags, and tissue covers. There is a Fair on tomorrow for handmade products, Jenn (Jen’swall), and I, are off to try and make some money. Hopefully, the small items being less expensive than the bags, I might sell more of them, we will see. I will keep you informed of how we get on.

The inside of the bag is even better. Lots of compartments inside, even a zipped, waterproof, inner pocket for you makeup!
Glasses case: by quilting the fabric it keeps your glasses safe.
Tip of the Day 5 is another great idea which is very useful and will save you money!
You are about to go out, to work or an evening out. You have taken care to look great. Just before leaving home, you look down, and dam it: your hem is coming unstitched.
You either: change,
or, get out the needle and thread,
or, grab the proprietary hem fixer. No you don’t you…….
Tip of the Day 5
Grab your child’s glue stick and dab it on one part of the fabric. Finger press the hem to the main fabric for a short time until it holds. If you have access to an iron, iron the two pieces of fabric together. The heat from the iron will fix it immediately. The best thing about the glue stick is…..it is washable. It will hold for as long as you want it to, or, until you wash, or have your garment cleaned.
It dries white but does not show through the fabric. I have used it on cotton, mixed fibres, silk and satin, and it holds brilliantly. Give it a go, you will be so impressed. Tomorrow, the tip will be back to food and is about soup.
