BECOMING A FAITHFUL STEWARD.
READ:1CORINTH. 4:2.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 134 – 136.
"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful" - 1cor4:2
Stewardship is managing another's resources. It is not ownership. It is overseeing the affairs of another man's business. It is an entrustment. A Steward is a custodian, keeper or caretaker of something.
We came into the world with nothing, and we shall return with nothing. (1 Tim 6:7).... The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. (Ps 24:1)
You see.! We are just stewards of God's resources, and we serve God through men. Giving to God becomes easy for man with an understanding of stewardship because he/she knows that all he has belongs to God.
Now life has it designed in a way that you enter your destiny by helping other reach theirs in the place of service. Jesus said if you are unfaithful with another man's business, how can your own be given unto you. (Luke 16:12). This scripture revealed that your level of faithfulness with another man's business is the determinant of your maturity to handle your own. Heaven does not give us what we ask but what we can manage. And our management capacity is developed as you serve in stewardship.
Preservation, multiplication, faithfulness, and accountability are core principles of stewardship. By preservation it means whatever has been committed into your hands must not die. It must also not remain the same in value but should be multiplied, upgraded and increased in value.
Are you employed? Give your best to that job. Are you managing someone's business? do it diligently. Are you a pastor, remember you'll give account of the souls under you. Be faithful with another man's business so that heaven can release your own.
Prayer :
Lord, make me a faithful Steward. Help me to preserve, increase and multiply what belongs to others entrusted into my care.
