HERE AND THERE OF MY DAD. COUNT-DOWN TO MY DAD'S FUNERAL
It's seven days to my dad's burial. I never imagined myself writing about his departure so soon but death without notice laid his ugly hands on my father. tears has becomes valueless but I saw this image in the cause of contemplation.
Carson McCullers quoted
"How can the dead be truly dead when they still live in the souls of those who are left behind?
I like to share some of the many things I learnt from my father while he was with us on earth. this will be a series till his funeral on the 15th of March 2018 at 69 Idoro road. Aks. Nigeria.
APPRECIATION IN MARRIAGE: LESSON FROM MR. SAMUEL EFFIONG JAPHET.
I attended a friend's birthday party some years ago. we were asked to introduce ourselves. after the party, a was approached by one tall handsome young man that introduced himself afresh to me as one of my dad's student. He asked me about my mum, that he has heard much from my dad about my mum from my dad.
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
I cannot remember any visitor that came visiting our home that my dad failed to mention how good his wife has been treating him. He will never fail to appreciate his meals and any kind gesture done to him.
I will not forget his favorite lines "I am appreciating my wife, if you are angry then go and marry so you can appreciate yours"
Appreciating your spouse have benefits;
- When you appreciate your spouse, you make he/she feel loved
- Appreciating your spouse makes him/her want to do more. William James said "The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated".
- Appreciation gives your loved one a sense of acceptance.
- Appreciation in a struggling marriage is like a medicine to the sick.
My dad winning principle in his marriage was "APPRECIATION" and he consciously made us understand that the greatest humans craving is the cravings for appreciation.
I am ending this post with a request, I will appreciate any amount you can send to help the preparation for the forth coming funeral.
