I sometimes indulge myself by reading esoteric stories and such, some of them seem fantasy nevertheless I find them most appealing. One of the most famous themes ever used in esoteric circles is the story of the Count of Saint Germain.

This person seems to have appeared in European society in the early 18th century, he was enjoyable company to many as he was well versed in any subject and had an incredible personality, he was said to have worn many precious stones and was more likely what could be called a dandy, only thing is Voltaire is supposed to have known him and was impressed by his knowledge.

He was supposed to be a spy a wizard a knower of the dark arts an alchemist and a member of about all the secret societies known at that time. He was also said to not have aged at all during the span of maybe 60 years in which he was known. When he first appeared he was supposed to have been a little over forty years of age and when he disappeared about 70 years later he had the same appearance.

It is sometimes said that he died in 1784 at the manor of a friend, but no tomb was ever found and no cause of death is known. But this date must be not right because some official Freemasonry documents have him at one of their conventions a year later in 1785, also many reputable and important people of the time also say they saw him way after that date.

So we have somebody who seems to have conquered age and was also imputed with having overcome death, this would make him some kind of superman, also he would have to know a lot imagine what he would have had to go through all that time.

Of course he isn't the only person to have been said to be quasi eternal, in the Bible we have Melchizedec priest of the most High God, who is also said to live forever. And I know there are more individuals said to be like that, I will have to look this up.

Anyway I find this story of Saint Germain very interesting, I really don't have an idea if it is true, most probably it isn't but it sure makes me think.
