Life After Death
This has to be one of the controversial topics of all times because everyone, despite whatever they say, would like to be sure that after he or she dies, there will be a life, perhaps in spirit form, where they will not face the hardships of a physical life.
Now let’s be clear on something, despite all the promises religions make nobody, and I mean nobody knows what happens after you die. Christians and Muslims believe in a heaven and hell, Jews as far as I can read in the old testament at first had no belief in an afterlife, there is a passage that says once you are dead you will no longer see the sun, hear or think so do what you have to do while you are alive. Sometimes after they came up with the idea of an afterlife.
Now getting to heaven which is the ultimate goal of a person who has been caught up in religion comes with certain requirements, like accept Christ, or the Muslims have to be good people, Jews have to be good Jews, the Hindus and Buddhists believe in a nearly endless chain of reincarnations until you reach enlightenment and so on with all religions, even the ancient religions Norse, Egyptians, Greeks had an afterlife.
But nearly all religions come up with the idea that there are two places you can go to, the good one and the bad one, and that is what I just can’t understand, why would an omniscient God who as the word says knows everything, start making all these souls, give them a physical life so they can live it and then at the end he decides whether your life’s actions deserve your sending to heaven or hell, would he be so mean as to condemn you to an eternity in hell for whatever mean thing you did in you short life in the material world?
Now don’t you think that is putting in a lot of effort and trouble creating all these souls, send them on a fools errand to a material plane and in the end they will go where they were always going because, you have to get this, God is omniscient he already knows what your life will be, and of course he knows whether you are going to heaven or hell.
If he doesn’t, then God is not omniscient and we have been given a lot of lies for some reason. Now what could that reason be? And the answer is of course control, the easiest way to control a human being is letting them know that if they don’t adapt to the set rules they will go to a very bad place once they die. And since death scares the shit out of everyone it works.
Now let’s be logical about this, before you were born did your soul or spirit exist? If it did, it will most probably just leave your material body and keep on existing. If on the other hand it didn’t exist and you were as good as dead before you were born, the most probable thing is that when you die you will go back to the state you were in before birth, better said nothing, your body will decompose and will slowly but certainly return to dust.
I actually believe there is a creative force or energy that creates everything, I have no idea if this force is sentient, but I believe once we die this force just collects our energy and just keeps on creating.
But all in all I would think religions are used just for the power to control the masses because they have nothing to back their beliefs, just the faith their follower want to have, something like fiat and crypto currencies, once faith goes, down goes the whole concept.
