Do Money Change The Rich Or Brings Out The Recessive Character In Them

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Some have food but can not eat, some can eat but have no food, you have food but do you share...........

“The good we secure for ourselves is precarious and uncertain until it is secured for all of us and incorporated into our common life.” - Jane Addams.

So many people live a rosy life, we all do not have the same income, we do not live the same life, we do not have equal opportunities in life.

Some people are rich, very wealthy, they live a flamboyant life. These people buy expensive houses, ride expensive cars, have several maids and workers, they own multi billion dollar companies and investments. They do not care about what they would eat or drink as these things are readily available due to their past effort and hard work.

Living this kind of life is good in fact, so many people pray day and night to enjoy one day of wealth.

There are wealthy people who are wealthy, people who assist the poor. These wealthy people give shelter, clothes, food and render other forms of assistance to people who are in need of it. They try to impact their world and make everyone feel happy t their own capacity.

On a contrary, so many people have money and possess power but they use it to oppress the poor. So many of them will not pay their workers their deserved wages, they maltreat their maids and treat people who are not as wealthy as they are as rags.

They only associate with those that can give them more power and wealth, the only thing they know and stand for is greed. Immersing more wealth and fame without thinking of those who do not have.

These two set of rich people got me worried and I decided to ask a simple question.

Does money corrupt the human mind or does it bring out the inherent personality of an individual?

There's this popular saying that d heart of Men, is desperately wicked. "you can't tell the real character of a Man until he is rich and has d power.. This is popular among politicians, u see them betraying the people who mentor them and is also common among ordinary citizens.

I have noticed that as well.... A proud rich man had pride in him before he became wealthy

Like the saying goes, the true character of a person is being tested when he becomes rich.. Most times I believe money corrupts mind, they see their friends who isn't up to their standards as they won't add anything to their lives, very few people remain loyal and help others and some wouldn't want you to attain same heights as them..thanks for sharing 😊

I agree with you @sweetestglo-eu on the fact that the true character of a person is being tested when he becomes rich but i'm not sure if money corrupts the mind. Thanks for reading

Good Post @gbenga ,, This is really useful. I have just upvoted the post of yours ;)

I think the money is what changes people, but that doesn't mean that rich people should be looked at as "enemies" or "evil", because let's be honest, almost everyone of us, if we were in their position, would act the same way.

What we should do, is celebrate those who can resist the effect of money on their minds, those who retain their humanity even after being rich. This will incentivise the others to at least try to change.

I like your perspective and view. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it.

Similarly, there are poor people who feel rich, and share the last piece of bread with those who ask. And there are greedy poor people who will fight for a penny. In the Russian language, the word "wealth" comes from the word "god", and earlier the one who lives in God was considered rich.

Truthfully, some poor people are greedy and selfish.

Thanks for sharing this.... I'm glad you did

Great @gbenga im agree with yoy

Thanks my friend

You are welcome friend @gbenga

I think it only highlights the person's character, a good guy would always be good. A bad guy would tend to be more bad with money since he could now be able to act out those bad traits he has now. After all from the series Billions, Bobby "Axe" Axelrod said:

What's the need of having f#%k-you money if you don't get to say f %#k you?

That's it.... Money does not change your character, it is only a catalyst that speeds up the rate of it

Spot on. ✌️

a great post. success is always my friend

You are welcome :-)

They only associate with those that can give them more power and wealth, the only thing they know and stand for is greed. Immersing more wealth and fame without thinking of those who do not have.

Great piece and content as usual. The way the human nature is made, it loves comfort and eaisly berate others who dont have. However, this is usually overcomed by life experience and personal conviction to benefit the human world.

On a contrary, so many people have money and possess power but they use it to oppress the poor. So many of them will not pay their workers their deserved wages, they maltreat their maids and treat people who are not as wealthy as they are as rags.

Like the governor of my state (you know him). It doesnt happen in other climes. You just have to pay workers, even if you dont have, you have to borrow.

Beautiful indeed. i wonder why people would owe their workers their wages which is their right

The point is that no one is righteous in situations like this but the botton line is people are corrupt because of money except few.

beautiful indeed.
