How I practice drawing from the imagination
Hey steemit I thought I'd share more about my process for practicing drawing from the imagination, at the moment I'm studying faces and skeletons, although I didn't get around to any skeleton doodles
So first I do a process I've explained a while ago where I imagine a rectangle in the perspective and proportions i want to draw things on the page and then use my understanding of anatomy and shapes to build forms from the imagination. So I have to study a lot of images and observe in my daily life or that part of my brain won't develop over time to handle more complex forms and more variety. You can see the rectangles I'm a few of the drawings, in the other ones I drew faces using what I've studied so far about faces, drawing pretty quickly so some of them are pretty sloppy and I used ink on cheap paper so it didn't take well but it works great for practice since you have to draw so much, and paper can get really expensive
There's a lot more that I'd have to go into to fully cover the topic but this is just something I felt like sharing now, let me know if you guys would like to hear or see more, I have a few of these from the last couple of days
Cool stuff! I reshared.
wow thank you
No big deal. I think you are getting all to little steem considering the quality of your work.
Great drawings there mate.
Nicely done!
Great tip. I think drawing in pen helps to develop more assertive marks.
Yes I strongly agree, I make it a little rule for myself to never use pencil unless I need to for a commission or something
erasers can be too much of a crutch (and smudging)
