Life and the 3 little pigs analogy of mind
The story of the 3 little pigs can be seen as an analogy for the mind. The 3 pigs represent the 3 characteristics of the mind - that Freud called id, ego and superego.
In the story, the pigs first create a house of straw. What is build in their life is weak, and the wolf of negativity can easily blow it down.
This story represents learning how to build something in our lives, how to get our feet on the ground, build a career, or business. The 3 parts of our mind, learning how to work together, and with practice, can build stronger and stronger momentum in our lives, until it is strong enough to withstand challenges from the attacks of negativity and misfortune.
Those of us who have trouble building something in our lives, who find whatever we create collapsing like a house of cards, can learn from this story. The suggestion is that our 3 parts are not working together well, and are in conflict, not cooperation. From this point of view, we can consciously address this aspect of our mental strength and take steps to learn how to get our minds main parts to work together cooperatively and withstand negativity and other challenges to what we have built in our lives. We can observe the conflict between our minds parts and consciously guide them to a state of cooperation and productivity.
