Students and Russians living in the UK should return home immediately to be sent to study or work in Siberia, Russian officials urged.

A campaign calling on young Russians in Britain and the West to return home has just been launched, the Express reported.

The lead agency of the campaign is the Rossotrudnichestvo, the Commonwealth's Commonwealth of Independent States, overseas compatriots and international humanitarian co-operation.

Olga Evko, Rossotrudnichestvo's representative, warns that Russian students in the UK are facing a "noticeable negative impact of Russian hostility" after the former Skripal spy.

Due to security threats and "provocation" after the poisoning, students should return home and move to the "wild east" of Russia, according to the campaign.

In recent years, some of Russia's brightest students have come to study and work at major universities and companies in the UK.
