The World's First Drone Chai (Tea) Delivery in India!
Soon drone could deliver hot tea direct to your doorstep.
Started with a hostel room in IIT Kanpur, this startup is showing that innovations can also happen in India.
Lucknow based Tech Eagle, an Indian food-delivery start-up, have developed a drone capable of transporting up to 2 litres of hot tea distances of up to 6 miles (10 kilometers).
TechEagle Innovations has tested Chai(Tea) Drone Delivery in India for Online Kaka.
This is the first time when Chai is Delivered via DRONE/UAV. The Drone is completely Autonomous to go on any mission. It automatically Picks the packages and Drops at the set GPS Location.
Tea drinkers living in Lucknow can order their hot beverage through Online Kaka and the drone will fly to their address.
The drones are equipped with GPS tracking devices and live data is transmitted to ground control station, updating the operator on the UAVs flight status.
When the drone reaches its desired location it will drop the package and returns to base.
The developers plan to expand the range of their quadcopters drone from 6 miles (10km) up to 31 miles (50km) and are also working on a hexacopter (6 rotors) which could be capable of carrying heavier loads.
The concept should be used to deliver the medicine for the needy in remote villages and congested areas of the cities to save lives.
This technology is useful for many application areas.
