Daily Thoughts - 07 May 18 - Homesteading Today...

Good Morning, Steemians! :D

Getting up before the sun is not my idea of a good time, but it sure makes you feel productive when you get all the barn chores done before 0730 hours and have the rest of the day ahead of you. Now I’m not saying I won’t need a nap later, but I’m not sure when I’ll get the chance or if the puppies and grand-puppies will let me have one. :D LOL. :D Its also nice getting the extra time with my husband before he heads off to work for the day. :D

Pinky (1), Junior (2), and Lil’ Miss (3) enjoying their breakfast. :D Its so much quieter and peaceful once they’ve been fed. :D

We have a very pretty sky this morning. :D

Belle didn’t kick once while my husband was milking her this morning and we’ve come up with a system that strains the milk while we’re in the barn. Its weird how much of a difference that makes to the process. :D

Our little Leroy got up, moved over to this spot, which is about five or six steps from where he was laying, so he could see his mom, then decided that was enough effort before breakfast and lay back down. LOL. :D He’s so cute and soft too. :D

Apparently fresh raw milk makes Lil’ Miss (1), Junior (2), and Pinky (3) very sleepy. :D They ate their breakfast and oatmeal and then also got a nice helping of milk. About a minute after they finished they were all laying down or about to lay down as the sun was coming up and a couple of minutes later there was a lot of snoring coming from their stall, LOL. :D

Bruticus wanted to go outside this morning. :D

Here comes the sunrise, YAY! We also have its reflection in our pond, which is kind of cool, at least to me. :D

Leroy (1) and his mom Belle (2) are in their pen for the day and seem to have gotten used to having Lil’ Miss (3), Pinky (4), and Junior (5) for pen pals. :D

Joker (1), Buddy (2), Candy (3), and Princess (4) enjoying their breakfast in the sunshine. :D

This mornings milk is in a cold bath right now and I’ll be transferring it into the other glass jug we bought at Wal-Mart yesterday. They’re great jugs, the cream stays on top and the milk pours right out the spout. :D Its basically milk on tap, LOL. :D

We aren’t sure whether it was Princess (1), Joker (2), Buddy (3), or Candy (4), but at least one of them has been washing their hooves in their water tub. That is so rude. :D LOL. :D

We have a visiting duck in our pond, I wonder if it’s the same one as last time or if its another one, that heard about our pond from the one from last time…LOL. :D

Our handsome puppy dad Dakota and his lovely daughter, our beautiful grand-puppy Lady enjoying a nap in the cool breeze and warm sunshine this afternoon. :D

Apparently, all the puppies and grand-puppies scheduled their naps for the same time because everywhere I looked there were puppies or grand-puppies napping. :D Our handsome grand-puppies Shadow (1) and Tiny (2) were in my bedroom on the floor. :D

Our beautiful grand-puppy Mya was on our bed. :D

Last but certainly not least, their lovely mom Karma was in the all-seeing spot between the living, kitchen, and hallway, where she can see every doorway and all movement within the house. :D LOL. :D

While I was putting the bag balm on Belle (4) I was also being ordered to get supper ready for the piglets by Lil’ Miss (1), Pinky (2), and Junior (3), LOL. :D
