Psh, it's not rare for males, well, elders, in Asia to do yoga like the above. I do it and I know plenty who do, although classes are really not a must and I don't really go to any, ever.
Just pull up a youtube video (I like Yoga by Cadace) and follow along, preferably on a mat. You'll do terrible and not even be able to do most, but you'll get there!

Monastic yoga is good, but this yoga is better in terms of overall benefit as it gets lymph fluid flowing and your joints moving in weird ways which helps...everything to put it simply.
If you don't want to be stiff and barely able to turn your head or pick something up, get on that yoga :)
