What are tags?

Everything you write and post on Steemit is stored under a particular category or topic to make it easy for people to find what they are looking for. So a tag is simply a category or subject. So all the posts written with that tag will appear there. To see all the tags on Steemit, check this link: https://steemit.com/tags

When you are making a post, you are to choose 5 tags. The first tag should be the main tag. For example, if your post is about Family, your first tag should be family. If you are writing about movies, your first tag should be video. If you are writing anything that concerns life, the most relevant first tag to use is life. After you have selected your first tag, you can choose any other 4 tags to complete it 5. Tags are written in lower case and separated by a character spacing. Each tag is one word in length Before making a post, you need to select the appropriate 5 tags.

The image below shows where and how to put your tag while typing your post. You write the 5 tags all in lower case with one character spacing in the box labelled as shown below:
