Boon Docking On The Bay
Living Free In San Diego, California
Was looking out across the bay and saw so many boats all lined up. In making an inquirey I learned that if you were so far away from any dock, you could live for free in any bay in the USA.

Each Larger Boat Has A Dory Or Small Boat To Get To Shore
Each bay has a public dock where you can tie a boat up and go shopping, or just come a shore for free. These spots are usually free or no more than a dollar or two. In visiting with some people that were headed to town, I found that some people come for a week or two and others stay all year. Most came in to buy groceries and wash clothes once a week. Now that is cheap rent or motel rates, which ever apply.

Without a dory, there is no other option than to come in, boat and all.

RV's boon dock for free on any land owned by the BLM. It is usually far out from shopping, so you drive to town when you need to go. But this is boon docking in the bay, where everything is close at hand. Whether there for a couple of weeks or more long term, you might cut expenses by staying in open waters.
