Happy Summer Solstice ☀️Happy International Yoga Day 🙏🏽

Are you celebrating this ancient day of pagan worship when the sun is at its highest point in the sky? It is the longest day of the year and from now until the winter solstice in December, the sun will shine less each day until it reaches the shortest day.

In England, there is the famous Stonehenge with rocks which align with the sun dating back 5,000 years. It is a place of pagan sun worship rituals at summer solstice.

Did you know that the ancient Chinese considered the summer solstice as an expression of feminine 'yang' energy, balanced by the masculine 'yang' energy of the winter solstice. ☀️

Today is also International Yoga Day and I attended an invigorating summer yoga flow class this evening to rebalance and reconnect with my inner self.

Call it a pagen festival or anything however I am having good fun due to the summer weather...Good post though, enjoyed the read.

Found this a few days late but . . . it's still SUMMER! Hurray! Energy flowing freely. I'll be following your excellent posts. :-) BTW I adore Cambridge - visited years ago with the International Byron Society (he went to Trinity as you probably know). Great town.
