More about reading and writing
Writing, speaking, listening and reading are the intelligent ways of communicating people. We learned and taught to read and write, as basic foundations of culture and we have done it using the beautiful Castilian. This, our language, arrived after a long journey. It began in Rome, around 218 BC, when the Romans, carrying Latin, undertook the task of conquering and colonizing the Iberian Peninsula. During that time, about 200 years, they moved there, in addition to the language, part of their customs, their institutions, as part of the novel culture proper of Roman law. With this happened the change of name, it was renamed Hispania, and its inhabitants were shedding the old languages and adopting Latin, which had previously been a dialect of Lazio. Thus, what Professor Sambrano Urdaneta called "the Romanization of the Iberian Peninsula".

The Latin language, a language of great importance, was in force in the Roman Empire throughout the Middle Ages. With time, gradually it was losing validity and, when aggravated by the dismemberment of the Western Roman Empire, it was transformed, then, into the so-called Romance languages, one of them being Castilian.

Castilian is, therefore, derived from Latin and became official in Spain, after its unification in the fifteenth century, and with the ordinance issued by Alfonso X, the Wise, when he established the obligation that in that language, and not in Latin, Historical data and all public documents were written. Today is also the language of all Hispanic America. In Venezuela, article 9 of the National Constitution establishes that the official language is Spanish. But in it, the constituents incurred a notable failure to abide by that grammar rule regarding the use of gender in nouns. So when, referring to the human being, we mention the word man, alluded to both man and woman, the In the same way, when saying President, Minister or Prosecutor it is understood that this noun, although it is masculine, without discrimination includes the official of either sex. Without falling into the inelegant expressions of Vice President, Fiscala, etc.

Returning to the writing, let's take a big leap back, let's briefly mention the Bible. We can not indicate dates, because history tells us that it was written for about 14 centuries and by more than 50 authors. It is claimed that the first book, Genesis, was written thirteen centuries a. of C. All these sacred writings were accumulated until integrating the 73 books gathered, then, in a single volume. And, in what languages? It also tells the story that The Old Testament was written in Hebrew and Aramaic, and the New Testament in ancient Greek.
