LOVE FOR THE CLASSICS
"Someday the car will exceed the barrier of 200 kilometers per hour"
Camille Jenatzy
Today I want to write about one of the things that really fascinate me and move the floor for me, a platonic love that can overtake everything and that feels so different from anything else.
My great passion for classic cars, the history and the life that these cars have passed is something that can and does not stop to amaze me.
Classic cars has a unique design which transmit a love and passion that today's cars have lost, the line and a lot of vintage aesthetics have been left in time, chrome, details, badges, interior details and quality of the materials generated a feeling that today nothing seems to be able to replicate.
The German cars have always been my choice by nature, models like the Mercedes Benz pagoda, the 190 SL, or even my beloved and beautiful w123 has something that manages to awaken pure love within me.
The decades of the 60s, 70s and 80s achieved automotive perfection in my opinion, leaving a the American cars a bit behind, Mustang, Camaro, Chevy, Impala, are awesome cars but there is nothing like the European design.
Not only the aesthetic part is the one that makes you falls in love, the driving of classic cars also has its own spice, and although stability control systems and brake control have brought greater safety, the driving style of a more abrupt and wilder ride makes it quite a challenge to tame these vehicles.
A car with 400 horsepower, rear-wheel drive, no electronic driving control system, and a somewhat more basic engineering is just a fun game to play.
German engineering has shown over the years that fame made is no accident, have developed an idea and a mentality when developing a vehicle that overlaps with anyone.
I remember the first time I drive a Porsche 911, the experience of feeling the boxer engine located in the center and with a torque that at the time left anyone glued to the seat left me speechless.
Nowadays the car design has managed to bring the aesthetics to an extreme point, with many incredible cars and features from another planet, I do not want to be misunderstood there are many cars today that really fascinate me, but the feeling of a car with history and manufactured in other times make it worth a lot more in so many aspects.
I hope that this passion for design and building with love will keep alive and will soon regain the automotive world.
