Provocative Images on Steemit - Mmmm not sure about that!
I'm being compelled to write this post, if it offends so be it, I talk and write on things as I see it and really don't concern myself with comments or criticisms that add no value or quality to my life. By all means if you wish to comment, please do, I'll look forward to your comments and point of views and will respond accordingly and respectfully and gratefully. I've included pics to drive home my point so here we go...!
Surfing the Steemit Community last night I came across various posts with pictures of friends and Steemians using their beauty and sexuality to entice fellow Steemians, mostly men, some women to upvote their posts. I haven't got a problem with provocative images being used in its proper context i.e pornography, private pictures/viewing, but I question the validity of these images on a platform such as Steemit.
I've come across fantastic and relevant posts that are informative, thought provoking and interesting to read, yet they seldom get a look in much less an upvote. Now many would argue for the consensus to be about free will, I would argue free will can be found in newspapers, T.V, magazines, CDs, videos the list goes on, and in our rights to choose and decide the content to view. Free will does not mean that I should be privvy to material and information that in my view diminishes the credibility of talented content creators, THERE'S A TIME AND A PLACE! I even saw one post advertising for TRICKS! That's clients for prostitutes for those who are not familiar with the vernacular on the streets.
Although still new to this site, Steemit has been a lifeline in providing me and I'm sure countless others with the opportunity to express our views, thoughts and ideas in the name of creativity, it's not something I take lightly. I enjoy the flexibility to choose what I read and upvote on what I believe to be quality content that adds meaning to people's lives. But to exploit our looks and sexuality says more about the ego and the superficial relationship we have with ourselves, we should be invested in our character to root out the false impressions that leads to CONFUSION about who and what we are. Oooh I wish I could highlight, underscore and make that word flash like a lightbulb! WHO ARE YOU?
GET TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND ACCEPT IT

Yeah, it's pretty frustrating... but it was always going to be the case with the early adoption of Steemit... people come over from Facebook and Instagram and don't understand that this platform is for opinions and interesting content...
Eventually these people will fall away as they find their faces and bodies can't compete with the words of others... or they'll find a following and make a kagillion dollars. We'll just have to see.
Hey @aussieninja! I totally agree with you, hopefully interesting content will win this race. Thanks a lot for your comment, much appreciated.
