Mount Roraima: the oldest rocks on Earth (first selection)
Hello everyone!
This time I want to share with you some pics I took in june 2016, during a 6-day trekking to Mount Roraima, near the triple border between Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana.
This is a first selection of photographs, among tons of pictures I took and will be sharing with you in a more complete post. Well, actually I have not decided whether publishing a single long post or a series describing each day/section of the course (maybe you can help me to decide with your comments!).
Enjoy! :)
My first view of Tepuis, name given to this square-shaped mountains, by native tribes called Pemones.
Map showing the seven sacred mountains or Tepuis, Roraima is the last in the row. On its top is placed the Triple Point (border between Venezuela, Guyana and Brazil).
Arriving to Paraitepuy camp, where the 6-day trek begins.
A closer view.
The walk begins.
About to lose my hat, due to strong winds.
Breathtaking!
First night camp.
On the way to the top.
A nice close up.
Well, I feel it's ok for this first round (don't want to overwhelm you friends), focused in views of the Kukenán and Roraima tepuis. In the next post I'll share pics from the top.
I hope you have enjoyed and liked these beautiful views!
Fernando
All these pics were taken with an old digital camera Casio Exilim EX-Z12 7.2 megapixels, 3x optical zoom.
Beautiful and amazing experience. I would like to go there one day! :)
