It is gradually becoming a common practice for people to swear to one another in order to secure faithfulness and loyalty to a mutual cause. Parties who are engaged in business, marriage proposal or any other form of relationship find it convenient to take oaths before they can be assured of absolute commitment. This development is a pointer to the fact that the virtue of truthfulness and sincerity is fast disappearing from our culture.

It was in the news not too long ago that some prominent politicians in the south-western part of Nigeria took themselves to a shrine to swear before some idols in complete nudity! Unfortunately for them, some of their shameful pictures found it's way into the press and the issue became a public debate. That this practice is evil and condemnable is not debatable.
Make it simple: Let your YES be YES and your NO be NO
