POVERTY: Who you want to blame, Government or People?
Poverty is a widespread problem not just in the Philippines, but in the whole world. “The poor will always be with us.” It is one of the most thought-provoking, and also the primitive problem that exists in human society.
Have you even wondered?
Despite having a lot of talented Filipinos, it looks like many of our fellow people are still suffering from poverty. It’s unhappy to hear that we have skills and capabilities that can contend globally, which we can brag of, but only few can make it to the top. It remains the most serious social problem that needs to be addressed.
In this platform, I will share to you why Philippines struggles in this problem and some evident basis.
Issues on Corruption
The government until now is still corrupted because of politicians and personnel in authority that forget their responsibility to the country to satisfy their personal interests. That’s the reason why we also have debts in the World Bank. It is despicable to see educated Filipinos that don’t do what they have said during their campaigns. All they promise are for elections only, they don’t do, what is good for their people. Most of them make politics as a business.
Lack of Discipline and Self-Control.
With no discipline, you cannot achieve something noteworthy. Through discipline, procedures are executed appropriately, consistent, and systematized to achieve whatever goals that you need in your life. Absence of discipline is one of the big reasons of poverty in the Philippines. It’s miserable that many millennial today are very stubborn and hard-headed. They say whatsoever comes into their minds and they always complaining. All we need is will power and self-discipline.
Having Crab Mentality.
It is sad to say but crab mentality is common to Filipinos, instead of being happy for others who are making improvement and getting success in their fields, there are many people get insecure. In order, what they do is pull them down. For this such a poor mentality that should be eliminated. I really don’t like it when I see follower of these effects in action.
Over population growth
Many Filipino are what we called nuclear bomb family. Also birth control is not strictly prohibited by the government, that’s the reason why population is arising so rapidly. And as basis, poverty is the effect of this situations. Many children are abandon by their parents, allowing them to stay in the streets, making their own food. Issues also in snatchers and thief are rampant in the society.
If we stand together as one, this issue can possible be lessen, We people don’t just depend on our government but also to ourselves, if we want change, Its always start within ourselves and everything follows including our country. As one, We can make progress.

yeah. i like your blog. discipline beats talent. but how come those Filipinos in other countries are well-disciplined? in SG, they don't pee on public walls and dont spit. i wonder if it's the execution of the laws from the govt a factor too.

Everything you said is true bro. The government does have a lot to do with poverty but at the end of the day, if you are as fed up as me, you just power through, fight for your own forget everyone that isn't important to you and go make yourself successful.

Everyone is to blame. It should be give and take and not give-give or take-take. Also, we Filipino should unite and stop pulling the government down.our negativity is really not helping.
This is my midnight thought last night. We can go through it, a combination of hard work and belief. Power!
i understand with the discipline part!
The problem is that the Filipinos are not very smart, or most of them. For example you can offer a Filipino to do a business. His income would much a higher as he ever had, for example 1 million peso in any 3-6 month.
But.
For this he have to do something. He have to offer the price of his product for a very low price. For example, he produce a bamboo product. He sell is for 7000 peso. His expensis is the materials, it's less then 1 k, some current, it's less the 200 and the employee, it's maybe 300-500. If you tell him. You will give him 2500 and that's already good for this product, then the owner would already have a income after all expense.
And you tell him that you will try to market his product for free and you give him later a companies share if you will sell the product for example for 10.000.
But
The Filipino can not think. They having difficulties to use her brain. Or some most of them.
He will tell you that he will sell you for 5500.
If you tell him that you would buy one month later 300 pieces more, he is not able to understand that he could make a big business.
The Filipinos are poor because they are not using here brain, sadly I have to say that.
So first point is to bring education into that country. Brain training and teach to get knowledge to the people.
You can see in small stores people who are maybe 30 years old and they need a calculator to addition 70 + 5 x 7 + 100.
About the other thing what you said about the population. First point is to bring education to the people that they stop believing at god and the church. The church done a bad job, happy that they told some years before its okay to use protection.
Teach the people that's it's better to look for a job or do some any small business as to. Pray whole life for anything. They pray, thank you god for the food but he didn't done that. Some business man who are landlords doing farming, they pay some employees to plant and harvest the fruits or the rice and the employee working hard. So maybe better pray for the employees healthy and that the landlord will be always a good boss.
The Filipinos are not able to think about the future. They want to make a fast money, and that's they directly spend, they burn the garbage in front of the house and they didn't think about to bring the garbage 200 meters beside at the street into the public garbage box. I mean come on, did they reply don't know that it's smelling bad and is very dangerous for healthy and will affect a cancer.
The government is everywhere worldwide the same. In Germay they are same corrupt or not as in the Philippines.
