Wooooow, this story reminds me of my Dad when he was sick, every now and then he wished i was never gonna see him like that but hail and hearty as a fahter should be to his child.
Yes, for a father to be seen as vulnerable or frail must be difficult for him.
I much prefer the memories of my Grandad running around after me than the memories of him sitting on the sofa, wheezing and out of breath even from that.
