The oldest man in the written history: 256 years, 23 weddings, 200 children

in #life7 years ago

Li Ching Yuen is best known for having had an exceptionally deep age, or claimed to have lived 197 or even 256 years, making it far longer than Jeanne Calment, who is officially considered to be the oldest living person ever.

The New York Times correspondent wrote in 1928 that many old boys from the neighborhood said that their grandparents knew Li when they were boys, and that Li was an adult at that time.

It is rumored that Li Ching Yuen started his 10-year career, collecting plants from mountain, revealing that they are promoting longevity.

He has survived for nearly 40 years on diets including oak (ling-chi fungus), goji berries, wild ginseng, He Shou Wu (Fallopia Multiflora), Gota Kola (Asian Centella) and rice wine. In 1749, when he was 71, he joined the Chinese army as a martial arts teacher.

He married 23 times and had over 200 children !!!

According to generally acclaimed stories in his province, Li learned to read and write early, and had traveled to Kansas, Shansi, Tibet, Anam, Siam and Mancur in search of herbs for 10 years. He had been doing this for the first hundred years, and then he began selling the plants that he had . He sold the herbs he used for his diet and rice wine.

According to one of Li's students, Li once met a man of the age of 500 who taught him Qigong exercises and gave him nutritional recommendations that helped him extend his life.

Are Qigong exercises and nutrition rich in healing herbs the greatest secret of longevity?

It's hard to detect, given that the West learns that aging can "beat" high-frequency infrared devices and the best medicines.

He argued that inner peace and calmness of the mind combined with the breathing techniques of the secret of incredible longevity. Obviously, his diet also played a major role.

With the average life in the western world of about 70-85 years, the idea that someone could live for over 100 years seems weird.

Do we believe someone could live so long?

We have to consider that there are people who do not have a hard life, they do not have to be nervous about their debts, they do not breathe the polluted city air and are regularly physically active. Do not eat processed, sugars, flour or any food that has pesticides on it.

They do not eat genetically modified food. They do not use antibiotics. They do not consume alcohol and smoke. In addition to not eating fast food, they often consume superheroes and plants that positively affect our bodies and the immune system.

They also spend time in nature by practicing breathing techniques and meditating, thus improving their mental, physical and emotional health.

To do all these things, life for more than 100 years would probably be a normal occurrence. If we treat our body properly, who knows how long we would live.

Really interesting story
I do not need to believe the age to agree with the general statement that caring about your body and even more important, about your mind has very positive effects on you

Health is wealth. We should nourish our body and mind properly.

What a fascinating story. Natural food are really helpful in promoting longevity.

Really impressive. I am always a big fan of living and eating healthy. Everything we need for healthy living God has given through nature, in herbs and vegetables, fruits, etc. Health is indeed wealth and out of it proceeds well being and life.

I've read his story before. It's remarkable. I know it's hard to get an exact age on him, but I do believe he was well into his 100s. Just from interviews alone. It does show you how you live your life affects 'how you live' As Westerners we really need to slow down, be in nature more and meditate more both are proven stress relievers. Thank you for sharing it :) I think it will always fascinate me.

well done faustino, once again!

A most interesting read. Thank you. Peace and Love and Liberty
