Firewood crib

in #life9 years ago

Hi all.
This weekend was a busy one. And a very hot one. I just finished up splitting firewood for the new firewood crib I was able to build yesterday. All materials were salvaged from dumpsters, with exception of the shingles which i got a bundle of for $10.00. Anyway, it is a 2x4 framed roof with a half sheet of OSB plywood, perched on some old 4x4 posts, a couple of them are a bit rotted, but should be good enough to stand for quite a while. My wife stained it, and i got to work splitting logs.

The firewood was a tree that was taken down in a schoolyard near our house, that they were more than happy to give us. That meant that the arborist didn't need to haul it off.

Thank you for showing your genius improvisational skills from seemingly useless materials to a beautiful and useful, even needed, part of your homestead!

Just enough detail to adapt for one's own use.

And a picture too!

Thanks @bchick . It's nice to make something out of nothing, so to speak.

Not all of us have these abilities!
