A pistol can't really kill 100 people. It takes a lot longer, and preventative measure (ie. hero's) can take place in the meantime.
automatic weapons don't give anybody any chance to do anything.
A loss of a single life should not be ok at all. The point of banning just auto rifles baffles me.
the theory behind it is that a loss of 99 lives is better than a loss of 100 lives.
If you want to extend it and ban all guns full stop, then by all means you won't get any disagreement from me.
