A Cool Little Local Independent Movie Theatre Near Us!

Cinema's have been all but taken over by huge corporate giants. VUE in London being the main chain. So, having an independent cinema located not too far from where we live, is something of a novelty. Known as the "Lexi", this chic little screening venue has everything you need. I watched The Avenger - Infinity War here and really enjoyed the experience. They got comfortable sofa armchairs for you to sink into whilst munching out on your favourite popcorn and checking out the film. I mean, it's really got that "cosy" appeal that other bigger theatre chains just don't have.

The list of movies that play there aren't as extensive as what you'd find elsewhere but the ones that are showing will be the latest releases. As you can see, "Mamma Mia - Here We Go Again" is on right now. Not exactly something I'd wanna watch, but the movies are on rotation, as it works out great. There are only a handful of these types of cinema across London. Glad to know this one is situated so close to us. Ticket prices are around £7 which is also pretty reasonable considering the experience you get.

Big up yourself, "Lexi" and keep doing your thing for years to come! :)

That looks a real customer friendly cinema, and £7 is a amazing price for sofa seating. Also being a Londoner, I do prefer that sort of intimacy.

But the one megaplex that I can't resist, for big 3D shows, is the Cineworld Leicester Square IMAX 3D screen.

It is crazy expensive, at £21 a seat, and the screen is enormous, being IMAX, but what is really special about it are the lasers. There are only two screens like it in the UK, the other being in Sheffield.

What the lasers solve is the worst problem I have with regular 3D, which is the dimness and loss of radiant colours. The first film I saw there was "Star Wars The Force Awakens," in IMAX3D, with lasers, and I had never been so immersed in a movie in my life: the enormity, the brightness, and full colour spectrum.

Anyway, needless to say, it's far too expensive to go to regularly, but if there's a hot film in 3D, it can't be beat.

Just don't make the mistake of booking their 4D screen. That one doesn't have lasers, or IMAX, and the 4th dimension consists of shaking your chair about every time there's action on screen, giving you motion sickness lol!

Awesome, buddy. Thanks for the head up about the IMAX screen. The only one I've ever been to is the one in Waterloo. But I'll defo check the one is Leicester Square. :)

I've been to Waterloo IMAX. It's ok, but not worth it, cos it doesn't have the lasers.

If you do go to the Cineworld Leicester Square, it's the "IMAX 3D" screen you want, and Row H or back. It's massive, and everyone who thinks they want to sit further forward, regrets it lol.

wonderful to have a cinema near where you live that is great friend @ ezzy

It's really awesome. :)

wonderful😍😍

nice click! plz visit my page I also do photography contents!!!

Nice to see a cinema with a little character. The multiplexes taking over shouldn't be inevitable and for £7 a ticket there's no excuse not to vote with your feet.
