Vlog #51: One year on Steemit and my next steps.
It's my one year anniversary on Steemit today. And just like this platform, I have evolved on here.
From someone seeking blog direction in his first months to a simple life blogger and from there to someone that sees the Steem blockchain as so much more now than just a social media platform.
What I have realized is that everyone on here has a chance to make something of themselves but it takes dedication and hard work.
Earning Steem tokens through blogging is getting harder and harder. (more users, fixed reward pool) and will only get harder in the future. But I believe that blogging is not the only way to earn Steem tokens on the Steem blockchain in the future.
Businesses have a place here.
Having small businesses or trading on the Steem blockchain I see as a very positive venue that is just starting to begin. I want to get hands on experience with that and I believe that early adopters will benefit greatly from this.
I no longer want to wait on others to make things happen. I want to shape my own future.
The Steem blockchain is for everyone and anyone.

Great post, man. Totally feel your energy and vibrancy about where Steemit is headed. I remember speaking to @steemrollin and his sub-platform marketplace "peerhub". A great idea and one you've expanded upon moving forward into the future.
I see not only communities being one type of "segregation of interests" on Steemit, but also a fully implemented, thriving place of business. Everybody has their own unique username so will be easy to locate, advertising can target specific subgroups based on individualistic preferences (like online marketing now, except much more unified) and the payment system is actually built into the platform itself! Talk about a match made in heaven!
I totally see your vision and completely agree as to where Steemit can get to. Just over one year since it's birth and already exceeding many people's previous expectations. Makes you wonder what can be achieved after another year.
Innovative and thought-provoking dialogue from you yet again. Thank you for actually "thinking-out-of-the-box" and contributing your brilliant ideas to us all.

Happy 1 year Steemitday! The promotion of business transactions on Steemit I think is great, and can really help the growth of Steemit on a macro economic level, but I also think peer to peer transactions on a local level can explode Steemit within individual communities and make Steemit a household name. Facebook is extremely popular in advertising things for sale and really replaced Craigslist here in the US as the #1 way to advertise and sell things within your local community. It has also took a bite out of Ebay's business. As people learn how to transact with SBDs and communities form here on Steemit, I can see the advertisement of personal goods for sale beginnings and then completing those transactions with SBDs. This adds tremendous value to the everyday utility of Steemit and gives it a practical use for the user who's not interested in blogging, but would still like to use Steemit for it's many other uses. I'm shocked at how much the rewards from blogging have reduced. Similar number of upvotes but lesser SBD and SP, most likely due to vote weight but its still a significant drop in the few months that I've been here.
