Taking Trevor, my dad's best friend, to the vet - part 2
Today we had to take Trevor for his first checkup after we went to the vet last week.
He has been suffering from a bad ear infection here.
Last time the vet gave him an antibiotic cream and she wanted to see him a week later.
I think he sort of knew where we were going the moment my dad and I asked him to come with us.
But he got up like the star that he is and walked to the car and got in.
We drove to the vet and he fell asleep on the backseat. (it's only a 10 minutes drive).
At 12,5 years he tends to fall asleep pretty much anywhere.
Arriving he got out and the vet was already waiting for us.
Trevor is alright with the vet.
He's just not a big fan of getting on the 'elevator' table.
She checked his ears and sadly the infection was still there (but less).
His ears where also dirty.
The vet's assistant cleaned his ears outside with water and a disinfectant.
After, the antibiotic cream was applied again.
Trevor all accepted it like a boss.
It must have hurt him a little for sure.
Coming home he got a bowl of his new expensive super duper food.
Which he happily ate.
I always consider that a good sign.
Anyway, next week we have to go again.
I hope he will be fully recovered then.

Poor Trevor! Hope next week is better for him! I hate seeing dogs sick. We just one of our dogs last week. It is terrible to see them grow old and not enjoy life as much any more.
I just read about the loss of your dog in your blog. It was interesting to read that one of the other four was taking the lead now 'the boss' was gone. Trevor is the only dog in the house, but I do hope that he will recover or at least have a happy time as an old dog. @exyle and his father will do everything they can to make his life as good as possible.
He sounds like he is being cared for like a king! Special dog food and everything! They are such a part of our lives. Trevor still has a few good years left!

I have to clean my dogs ears weekly. They don't like it, but they tolerate it.
Every time, after the ears have been cleaned, the male will roll around on the floor for five minutes trying to get the residual cleaning fluid out.
But ... they haven't had an ear infection in years. :-)
Seems like it's worth it even if they might not understand!

Haha yea dogs and cats some definitely know when its that time again to visit the horrible vet lol, then again some love going for the attention they get from new humans, anyway its good to know its mostly good news for little Trevor @exyle
Has he improved since last week @exyle? It sounds like it's not completely cleared up yet. 😢
Yeah he has, but it's a nasty one. I hope he feels better soon. Luckily his appetite is not suffering.

Lol. My dogs know and they slam on the brakes outside the door. We have to normally check there are no other dogs inside with the Bull Mastiff. Not that he wants to fight but play. He gets too exited and because of his size scares people.
Glad he is doing a little better. My wife just cleaned our dogs ears the other day. She said they were filthy. Like I said, we just bought some of the disinfectant and antibiotic from the vet and keep it on hand for when we know she is having issues. It saves the trauma and cost of having to go to the vet. She isn't as cool with the vet as Trevor. :) Also just got a couple new bags of her super expensive allergen free food. Should last us two months :P
