One final 100% Dutch meal before the trip!
When in Rome eat like a Roman.
Hence one final 100% Dutch meal to fill the engine before it will be flooded with the staple of Brazilian food:
Rice and Beans.
Now I happen to love rice and beans after Bianca introduced them to me so I'm not worried about the food.
But sometimes when you are in another country you do miss that good old home cooking.
And for me it's Dutch food.
And in this case: Potatoes with carrots, fried onions and bacon all mashed together with two meat-boulders and gravy.
O yeah!
That will put the cravings away for a while for sure!

That looks delicious. Did you cook that on a grill or in a pan ... or on a grill in a pan?
I cook the potatoes and carrots together in the pressure cooker and fry the bacon and onions separately then bring it all together. I do like to add a ton of mustard to the mix but that's what like and not everyone is a fan.

Hi exyle. Never tried that and it actually looks kind of nice. Will look it up and give it a try. I like bubble and squeak so instead of cabbage you have carrots in the mash.
What a great idea. It looks delicious and I know it tasted delicious because you once made it for me also. I only miss the applesauce on top of it as you did when you were younger:)

Looks yummy @exyle. We usually mash potatoes with swede here, rather than carrot. I like the addition of onion and bacon though. 😁

It sure is a real solid meal. Nothing sophisticated. Just hot and nice. Usually we make this in winter but I eat it all year round.

That looks delicious, @exyle!! But anyway, in Brazil you won't have time to miss the good meat. The meat is also delicious and juicy there. But if you're dying to eat Dutch food, you can tell Bianca to cook some for you, so they know Dutch food there too. That trip promises great surprises! Greetings
Wow. That looks delicious. I have never tried Dutch food like this before or any Dutch food really.
I also like rice and beans since my husband is from El Salvador and now I cook rice and beans and other El Salvadorian foods, but I still love my Polish cooking too.

Haha at first I thought you was holding up your new volcano project @exyle but now I can see its meat boulders rather then mountain boulders, haha I am sure you will eat more then just rice and beans there.
