I was happy because I like simple things too.
I was completely set for any restaurant she wanted. Lobster and Steak, caviar and champagne. I was ready. But she wanted none of that stuff.
She wanted something simple. She wanted to go to Lebbink.
Lebbink is the place we went to a lot when we just met and when she was still working for a family in Rotterdam.
I was happy because I like simple things too.
"I never had flowers when coming through airport doors." She said this some day completely random. I made a mental note.
I didn't know how to drive with flowers so I tried it like this
I arrived at the airport way too early. It's the smart thing to do. Be too late and you never hear the end of it for the rest of your life.
There she is!
Almost home but the bridge was closed. Nature was calling for somebody.
She had a long nap and I wrote a blog. She woke up we went to Rotterdam. Around 19:00. Getting out of the car these guys greeted us.
She dressed elegantly I was wearing this...other shoes are too painful still. I guess on the plus side if you get too pissed you can always run home.
We shared the starter. Shrimps in cheese and garlic.
She had chicken saté and I had Ribs.
I had the best beverage in the world to go with it. She had Lemon water.
We drove past the river on our way home. Just like I did when I was looking for freedom weeks ago.
If you are wondering why I'm making this post and are not having fun upstairs. It's because real life is not like the movies. People get tired from a 29-hour journey in real life. I tucked her in and said good night. I'm sure she's already dreaming. But I got this kiss and that was fine!

I once bought flowers for my girlfriend but since I was on my scooter I had to put them in my backpack. And when arriving at her place she wasn't home. I had to put the flowers in the postbox....well eventually she appreciated the gesture I guess...we are still together and this happened 24 years ago
All is well that ends well!! I am rubbish at getting flowers. I really should do it more!
I have implemented a solution with my wife. I told her that if she sees me with flowers I probably had to makenup for something. So now she everytime is glad if I don't get her flowers!
That's kind of my thinking, if I get them she will worry I have done something!
