Dealing with crypto crashes from my side of the market

in #life8 years ago (edited)

I woke up this morning and saw the bloodbath in the markets on my phone. I got up (6 am) and made coffee and then checked out Steemspeak.

There I learned that the people on the US side of the markets had been going through hell while I was happily unaware and sleeping. (I never really thought about it in that way)

I made a reassuring post for me and others about my ETH DAO experience and went off to work.

It was a relatively short job so I got home around 13:00. Too much time left. I needed a distraction.

The markets are too high still to buy back in for me but not fun enough to watch (watching 10's of thousands of dollars evaporate is not my hobby...the other way around I'm a big fan though)

I decided to walk Trevor.

You can only walk a dog for so long, so after I went to the gym.

It was around here I checked the markets again and a correction was forming. Relieve was felt.

Maybe not as bad as I thought it could be. It was starting to go up nicely.

But after dinner I realized it wasn't a correction. Just a dead cat bounce. We are now at the same low as we were when I got up. This can very welI get worse. I said to Bianca. I deserve Ice cream. I drove to McDonald's.

I'm almost ready to go to bed. I think I'll take an extra dose of CBD oil tonight (that stuff is amazing btw, highly recommend it).

I do sometimes wonder how others deal with red days. I can handle it pretty well but I do like to distract myself and live life. Blogging helps too.

Tomorrow is another crypto day but for the next 8 hours, it's not my problem. I'll be unaware and sleeping :)

Hahaha I did the same thing and decided, oh well, no worries ups and downs are normal and healthy for building a solid foundation. I decided to step away today and enjoy an outing at our local casino to spend my birthday money... lol Sometimes you just have to have a fun day for yourself, I had cake instead of ice cream. We were sharing the same kinda day @exyle

I hope you had success or fun (or both) in the casino! and Happy birthday.

Thank you @exyle for the birthday wishes, I had fun at the casino and paid them well. lol It was a great day.

It's time to SELL everything you have, burn your house down and flee to Belize! Or head down to the Winchester, drink a nice pint and wait till everything blows over ;) Nah but seriously, just let it chill for the next few months. Work on other projects. Even if it means letting 5-6 figures "chill". It'll rise.

So glad to see everyone is keeping the faith. it helps me sleep on nights such as this.

drinking a pint is always a good idea :)

It's tough and I feel you. Imagine being someone who's into crypto currency for about two months, got very excited, did some research and then put almost all his money in there as well as that of his twinsister. Somebody without a job that pays the bills, trying to survive as a micro- or should I say shoestring budget filmmaker. That foolish somebody is me ;)
Yeah, it stresses me out at times like these but it's very exciting at the same time.
And no, I don't stop believing in this. Having found Steemit is one of the good things it lead to!

Nice post and keep up the good work!

I'll tell you what, the ice cream at McDonald's is a helluva lot better looking over there than it is in the states! :)

All kidding aside though, everyone's net worth took a big hit over the last 48 hours, which can be a frustrating thing to face in the short term. You have the right attitude though. If you can't control something, there's no use worrying about it.

I did take this opportunity to enter the EOS market though and bought some tokens. I'm almost positive I could have entered at a better price if I was patient and waited a little longer, but I'm holding EOS for the long haul, so I'm fine with acquiring the token at today's price. I'd be lying if I didn't admit a little "FOMO Fever" was involved, but what the hell.

At the end of the day, we all know where the Steemit road is going, we just have to stay on the path. Now I'm going to a US McDonald's for some 2nd rate ice cream! :)

I always assumed that the power of MacD lies in the fact it's the same food everywhere. Guess I was wrong. Hope you still liked the icecream :)

Looking at the charts of the major altcoins, I think a lot of traders might need a few sizable drops of that CBD oil to get to sleep tonight.

Buckle your seatbelt Dorothy, 'cause Kansas is going bye-bye.

I'm expecting more fireworks too.

just a bloodbath right now. market down to 80 billion from 115 billion...

I've seen a lot more red days to no longer worry about them. :)

I just wait. There's also a lot of opportunities during red days. Good time to get work done, things you need to do that you've been procrastinating on.

During red times you work... because the green days always reappear.

What we do today is what we can reap in the future.

I have to admit, I use to get depressed when the charts went red. I just keep reminding myself that this has happened many times before, and we always survive.

BTW, good post. Ice cream with a smile. Thanks for sharing it. :)

Thanks, man! I used to get depressed too but gotten used to it. Still like distractions though :)

I really like your outlook. It's been a really rough day, but you didn't let it get you down and were really productive with your time like taking Trevor for a walk and hitting the gym. Happiness is a choice and you made lemonade out of the lemons today!! :)

Positivity is the only way for me.

Personally, I bought some more Steem Power. 🙏

Yeah it was so cheap today!

That ice cream looks awesome! Lekker! Is that kit kat? :)
