How evil help us find ourselves?

in #life5 years ago

You ever notice that in childhood we often gravitate to the villains?

This is normal. Because we are eager to grow, to ascend above the crowd and to destroy the system, in which every year becomes more and more closely to exist.

I remember in literature classes, I always wrote an essay about the villains, realizing and protecting their image.
No matter who it is - John Silver from the novel "Treasure Island", Charles Manson or the Joker. Between them from this point of view there is no difference.

For example, Joker

The important thing to a teenager is to not be like everyone else. For a teenager this is very important, because the teenager is looking for himself, forms himself.

We all know that in the crowd not to find himself. Therefore, it is necessary to oppose themselves to the society.

But then when the person finds himself (sometimes it takes whole life), everything changes.

Coming out of the crowd, it has the ability to walk alone, to go away and look at it from afar.

And you know what it looks like at a distance? The crowd suddenly looks small. Required protection.

And people want to help her. He does it in his power, which he fully recognized, revealed and developed in the course of the journey inward yourself.

The man uses his powers to make the lives of others a little better. Maybe he does not understand, but now he's a hero. I hope that he understands.

After this post he should know.

The child is fighting and trying to destroy the system.

The wanderer goes from the system to find yourself, but hero comes back inside and tries to make it better.

A story as old as the world. Nothing changes. I mean, everything changes. More precisely, we all.

And then the story begins again.

Sort:

I've always gravitated to the villain and the anti-hero/outcast even now that's still my favourite story arcs and I love to see how those characters develop when they are faced with societal norms and breaking barriers. I think I've always been one for a disruption.

I was named after a revolutionary man Che for a reason lol

It's funny how in this world of billions it still takes one man or woman with unrelenting believe and resolve in what they see making changes. They just keep pushing on be it a good or bad ideology and people will eventually gravitate and thats how movements are formed and changes are brought about.

I understand what you mean) I think that in addition to courage and determination to confront something bright, society, the villain is more than anyone else who goes through the drama, carries it inside himself. I think that behind the image of many villains is a sad story, which serves as a trigger.
Now the image of the Grinch came to mind) do you remember what happened to him in childhood? lol
Perhaps this is what attracts us, we bring it closer to the villains? Because in the lives of many people there were sad and dramatic moments.

Very interesting perspective. I do often enjoy the villain parts in stories the most...they are more interesting usually.

I agree with you, @allforcrypto) To me the villains also seem more interesting. Usually in parallel with their images is a dramatic line. There is no evil without suffering and significant reasons. Perhaps this is what attracts you?
