Is Your Self-Talk Sweet? 👂🏽🍬 [Ear-Candy Inside!]
Is your self-talk sweet?
For a lot of reasons, such as:
religious indoctrination that tells you from childhood you are nothing;
public school indoctrination that tells you from childhood to ignore your own knowing; and
civic indoctrination that tells you from childhood to obey external authority despite the immoral, unethical, and unfounded stances of those in authority...
... for those deeply embedded, and mostly unnoticed reasons, many of us were trained to speak horribly to ourselves.
I didn't know how badly I spoke to myself, until I was hired to narrate A SCRIPT OF AFFIRMATIONS for a therapist who intended to give the recording to her clients.
Affirmations are not, as I had previously dismissed, cloud-fluff.
Affirmations are statements of fact. They are strong assertions that proclaim or pronounce something positive.
Affirmations are the opposite of negations, of which there is no shortage.
I want to amplify positive sounds in the world, so I asked the therapist for permission to share the sonic tonic with others, and she was glad to!
So, here's a little sweet talk for ya:

If you listen, please let me know what you think of it in the comments.
Also, do you make use of affirmations? If so, can you describe your favorite style/method/practice?
(This post is breaking an 8-month hiatus. A lot has changed. I suppose it'll take a moment to get re-acclimated...)
