How much money do Beggars make in DUBAI? [💰↻50%]

in #life6 years ago (edited)

Last days this is a hot topic where all the news are talking about this. I was curious to know about it, and when I made my research I was shocked about the result!

It is commonly known that Dubai is an expensive city where beggars can earn "little fortune", even some of them earn a month to 60,000 euros.

Over the past three years, beggars have largely exploited the generosity and wealth of Dubai's citizens. Even though the police attempt to fight the organized groups of professional beggars, their number is increasing day by day. The word is for gangs from Asia and Saudi Arabia who send beggars to Dubai, most often with quarterly visas, and then get the money they earn. Asian bands send professionals looking for money, then get it all.

Begging in general is illegal in Dubai, but just so we’re clear, these are not your average beggars. They are called smart or professional beggars for a reason.

First of all, they primarily target people who “look rich” and have a well-rehearsed heart-wrenching story, often involving their families who are either sleeping on the streets or living in a war torn region and in need of urgent assistance.

"They manage to convince the citizens that they are telling the truth. I also gave money, but then I realized that everything is a fabrication, "said Naval Al-Nakbi, who lives in Dubai.

A panhandler apprehended by the authorities in the Gulf country was reportedly earning more than physicians or lawyers in the United States.

Year 2017 has been one of the most successful years for these groups, as authorities have encouraged citizens to help the poor. Only during the early days of the holy month of Ramadan, police have arrested 65 beggars.

They have the biggest problem in identifying beggars "as they are well-dressed and very intelligent".

Beggars In Dubai Earn More Than CEOs And Managers !

A Dubai beggar which was arrested in 2016, was earning AED 270,000 ($73,500) a month, a Dubai Municipality official has stated. "Some of the beggars had passports issued with business or tourist visas. During the campaign, we found that the majority of beggars had entered the country legally with a three-month visa, in order to collect as much money as they could during their time here,"

The most money collected from people was during the Fridays,  when beggars stood in front of mosques. Also during the holy month of Ramadan, because in that month it is good to help each other in a Islamic religion!

You will find beggars in low income areas only. Chances of finding a beggar in posh localities like Business Bay or Dubai Marina is negligible. But the chances increase when you go to areas such as Deira, Hor Al Anz and Bur Dubai.
But finding beggars is very very rare even in these localities. CID is present everywhere, and they make sure beggars are not seen in Dubai as they will hurt the brand 'Dubai' itself.

Scams, false claims and stories that do not bear out are causing concern among people who would otherwise be willing to do their zakat ( or charity works), by helping beggars. One such ploy is where beggars appear at petrol stations, asking for money to help them continue their journey home.

There is one beggar  who gets up to 270 thousand dirhams per month, on average they can be 9,000 dirhams (Rp 300 million)," he said.

The beggars in Dubai are partying every time after the prayers on Fridays.

This moment is a golden moment for them.
