Mirror

I see beauty locked in sorrow
Hidden with all its vainglory
Been through many harrows
The site of happiness now a story

I see eyes watered with sadness
Yet filled so much with hope
Even after building myself a fortress
Just to fall cheaply to love

I see a lioness needing to be let out
Clothed instead like a lamb
Who then is telling me these lies
Afraid of a queen they cannot tame

I see life and living
An unselective happiness
That comes for no reason
Even in the worst of circumstance
