The animal activist group PETA has condemned an elephant polo tournament in Thailand following the emergence of footage showing inhumane treatment of the intelligent animals. Organisers of the event in Bangkok say they've fired some handlers, as the footage shows riders beating elephants more than a dozen times. PETA says elephants will only tolerate people riding on their backs if they have been broken in by trained handlers.
