I'm going to be in a circus.

Five months or so ago I was watching YouTube with auto-play on, I decided to follow wherever it’d take me. No matter what, if you use auto-play for long enough, you’ll eventually get led to a video where you’re being taught how to milk a cow with your feet, but I stopped before I got to that point. Instead, I stopped on a video that included a person performing card magic.

I think it’s safe to say that most people find card tricks cool, and I definitely did, so, what did I do?

I spent five months practicing card magic.

All I needed to do was see the 3 basic card tricks that he performed, and that was enough to make me want to do it. I spent 3 months just doing card tricks, I got pretty good at them, then I started to do other magic too. Routines like the cups and balls or the chop cup, I started to do sponge magic, that kind of thing. Here we are, five months after seeing that video, in my closet I have around 300 unopened decks of Bicycle cards, I have a bunch of random props, and I’ve become better than the person I originally watched in the video. In fact, recently, I rewatched the video for the hell of it and knew exactly what he did.

Then I got bored.

I still do magic, but, I wanted to do something else too. I liked learning a new skill, a skill that’s a bit more rare than being able to draw, so, guess what I picked up next

Juggling.

A bit odd, I know, but I was already out of ideas. I went on Amazon, I bought 12 juggling balls, and I started. I’m not sure how long ago that was, but, it wasn’t very long, and I’m already able to juggle 5, which, I know isn’t all that much compared to professionals, but, considering how recently I took it up, that’s a lot.

As I was practicing magic and learning how to juggle though, I was already picking up a third random skill — I don’t know why I want to do this, but

I decided that I’m going to learn a bunch of yo-yo tricks.

I have the yo-yo, I have a bunch of things to help me learn, and in a few months I’m sure I’ll be pretty fucking good at it. I don’t know why I’m learning this now, but, why not, right?

The next thing I think I’m going to learn is how to join the circus, because honestly, considering what I’m learning here, I’d be great for it. Either that, or I could be entertainment at kid’s birthday parties. Probably the second one.
