Ernesto "Che" Guevara de la Serena was born in Rosario, Argentina, in 1928, in a middle-class family suffering from asthma in his youth, but he was still able to consider himself a mathematician. With Che Guevara's increasing interest in Marxism, he decided to abandon medicine, believing that only the revolution could bring justice to the people of South America. In the early 1960s, Guevara also served as ambassador to Cuba after receiving citizenship on 9 February.
