I hate telephones
Back in '94, the... sorry, my dawning of email was an unexpected revelation. This is it, I thought, this is what I've always wanted, the best of both worlds, speed of light combined with the leisure of writing letters; I can answer within seconds or days. Asynchronous communication, to each his own time window.
But telephones persisted. And now look at the Facebook Messenger's design, becoming more and more horrible. Evolution is not necessarily progress; developments can spiral downward... sorry, I have to stop. The phone rings.
