What is female ablation?
It is a surgical procedure, which consists in partially or totally removing of the external female organs, which includes external labial and clitoris. The same procedure may include narrowing the vaginal opening, cutting and removing the labial lips which are sutured and joined together.

Reasons for female ablation
The main reasons that sustain this practice are religious and cultural, even though no religious text describes this practice (Muslims and Catholics).
The reasons will depend on the community or the historical time in which the practice is developed, however, all the cultures that motivate this practice dictate that it is necessary to prepare the girl for adult life and marriage, therefore, this procedure is aimed at ensuring the virginity and acceptable sexual behavior of women, since this procedure regulates the expression and intensity of a woman's sexual behavior.

How is it the procedure?
The girl gets naked, removing her underwear, sits on a bench. in which at least 3 women hold her, one of them encircles her chest tightly with her arms, and the other two women keep their thighs separated so that their vulva is fully exposed.
In the first procedure: The clitoris is removed, one of the women takes a razorblade and removes the clitoris.
For the second procedure: A cut of the outer labial is made on both sides of the vagina, then wash the surface of the wound and remove the cut flesh.
For the third procedure: For make sure to leave a narrow opening for the menstrual period and urine. Meanwhile, the upper labial are united through a painful suture. To ensure the union of the labial, they tie the girl's hip to her feet, immobilized for a few days.
Finally, during the marriage the husband can remove his wife's suture and verify her purity

Actually no, the practice itself only generates a process of painful physical recovery, hemorrhage, fever and even death. In the long term, it alters the sexual activity of the woman, limiting her through fear, pain and repudiation, there is a psychological alteration related to the side effects and infections.
