You will never be rich: part 3

in #life6 years ago

This is the third of my new series. Today we will be discussing one of the most important but also most overlooked trait that shows that you will never be rich.

You think you deserve more than you have right now

Most of us just go about thinking or saying that "oh, if not for this, I would be here or there". You think that everything or everybody is responsible for where you but yourself. This is one of the traits that will help in keeping you right where you are.

Today I was asking my mate in class that when do we always have a full class? He smiled and said "during examinations"

That is the fact and I am sure you will relate if you have been through formal education. It is hard, almost impossible to find a full class until exams and this is true because everything is driven by motivation.

The motivation that derives a student to attend lectures is not the same as that which derives him to turn up for the exams.

Coming to think of it, almost all the time you will have the perfect reason why you can't be in class and it makes absolute sense to you. In fact, you think you almost have no choice but to miss the class.
But if your excuses were so genuine as you chose to believe, why don't they come when it is time for an exam? This shows that everything is but the motivation behind.....

Now back to our topic for this article, you think you deserve more than you have right now and all you do is blame everything else but you. You blame the government, the system, the people, the environment or even God. Now take a minute to ask yourself, what have you done to deserve all the negative things ?

One day I was on a tour in the village with one of my friends, he was a field worker for RING International and we were visiting some villages in Bimbilla, a small district in the Northern region of Ghana. We got to a certain village and you would think that was not discovered by modern civilization. We undertook the necessary community entry rudiments and they took as to one man in the village.

We were supposed to ask questions to know the average income level of the community and after a few questions, we were left with our mouth opened.
The man's income level was a figure we were yet to dream of. In shock we asked him how he could make such level of income in such a deprived village.

The man smiled and told us he had more than 12 long buses working in Accra and many other cities. We simply could not come to terms with that but the man's house depicted his story. It was like a little heaven in the middle of hell!

We asked whether he had grown somewhere else before settling in that village and he said no, he travels but everything he had started in the village....

Enough of this story...The important lesson from the revelation is that, there is no place on earth that you won't find successful people and likewise unsuccessful.

You will find out that more than 4 million people in America have no place to sleep and almost have that number have to live on food from dustbins and throwaways. You will then ask yourself, isn't America the great land of opportunities ?

That is the simply truth, if you have enough motivation and conviction, you can achieve so much even if your environment is not so supportive and if you lack enough motivation you will be poor even if you had all the opportunities...

It is true that some environment or situations may limit you genuinely, but come on, will you just shrug off and blame everything? You need to understand that what ever you have now is exactly what you deserve, nothing more and nothing less! It is only when you come to accept this that you can now do more to change your state.

If you are not responsible for your state it means you can't do anything about it but is that really so? Ponder upon it and tell me what you think in the comment section!

Thanks for your attention and see you at the top!
