The totality of resolutions
In life, to have an absolute resolution, you have to have a focused mind. According to a google search, resolution can be defined as
a firm decision to do or not to do something.
What is your resolution
Being resolute in any given decision is not an easy task, sometimes we compromise at certain instances, while at other point in time, we simply remain stiff.
Resolution and determination actually go hand in hand and one might dare say that they are two factors which actually require each other to work.
Sometimes, we make a resolution never to let people or events control our very lives and we must live by those resolutions for the sake of the ones we truly love.
I will share a quick story. For years, I have allowed people control my life and in the process, I lost out on the most beautiful thing (for a while). After a while, I got that thing back and I vowed never to lose it again.
My point is so many people are not so lucky with a resolution-less life, some lose it and never get it back, the "it" in reference was actually a she, but it was used for emphasis sake.
I once had a friend who vowed to take his life the day he raised his hands against a woman because he had witnessed domestic abuse first hand.
A resolution can be only be complete if we apply perseverance to everything we do. Now let me take a quick second to deviate into the concept of perseverance.
In life, perseverance is highly needed. Not everything might be as spic and span as people will want you to believe at first, sometimes you just have to hold on to the very notion of what you are persevering for.
Like I will always say, life offers us our choices, perseverance helps us see our choices through till the very end. We have to ask ourselves if what we persevere for will be worth it at the end of the day and an affirmative answer is the shove that we need.
You can decide to be the person who gets his dream fulfilled by persevering or you can be the quitter. Of course having a resolution is incomplete without perseverance and yes, seeing your resolution through till the very end might be tougher than you anticipated, but an incomplete journey is no journey at all.
Most people resolve every new year to live a life better than the previous year, but how many people actually do it? The answer is few people actually do it, the remaining people spend the year worse than when they make those resolutions and a major factor is lack of perseverance.
A resolution that you want to stick to is about the hardest thing to do, among my resolutions for 2017, I said I was going to become a more responsible person who'll take more calculated risks and love harder.
Every year, I make up my mind never to become better than the previous year and understanding the necessities of my resolution makes me want to make it happen.
That brings me to my next point, a resolution is a necessity, see it as such, that way, you will end up respecting it more. Some have made up their minds to be better than they were, the ability to see your resolution as a necessity makes it connect to the path to actualization.
Failure and success rests in our hands, make a resolution to make it, stick to as because it is a necessity and persevere.

Yes you are right... But the decision must be right... not a bad decision,
and it takes time to plan
.... And we must persevere with intelligence and effort... Making a lot of effort is not helpful at all times
@ehiboss Good intentions are great but what's really important is taking action. Good deeds count more. Thanks for another inspiring post!
Highest Regards
Thanks for this article many does not understand what resolution is all about, I hope they will leverage it. @theheralds

:-) For me, I just plan and execute. Resolutions don't work for me.
very thought-provoking. I love this.
Very well spoken sir. Thanks for sharing.
Your thoughts and teachings are always ethically healthy. I'm yet to regret reading any of your works. Keep helping us become better @ehiboss.

I resolve to be a better me and be kinder to my fellow men. Not as fancy as most people's resolution. But it's a work in progress. ✌️
I particularly like your comment @greenrun. It's honest.
@funmiakinpelu, I am happy you liked it. Life is easy; people make it complicated...the honest way always is the simple way...Keep steeming.
Mostly that is people slogan for new year but they don't abide by it,i think resolution is a thing of mind and dedication to be positive.
As for me, I think resolution comes with experience. There is no way I would resolve not to do something and keep it unless I have done it before or seen someone do it and then followed up with the resulting consequence.
Good motivation for the season, @ehiboss.
