HALL OF FAME: ANGELS AMONG MEN

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. (Matthew 6:19-20 KJV)

When Christ said those words in the opening text, his audience didn't really grasp what he meant by ''laying up for yourselves treasures in heaven.'' That is still the case today as many still visualize castles in fantasy land in their understanding of those words. Its okay, I also had fantasies of golden streets and a mansion built of gold until the WORD of knowledge was given to me.

Now understand this: Good memories are the most precious treasures of life, and remembrance is a more valuable treasure than choice gold.
I repeat: Good memories are the most precious treasures of life, and remembrance is a more valuable treasure than choice gold.

Think about this - what happens to all the wealth you acquired after you're gone from this world? All the houses, cars, bank accounts, safe deposit boxes and vaults filled with cash, jewelries etc... They all decay and perish with time, that is if they don't get stolen or squandered first. How long do you think those who possess them after you even remember you? How many of the world's most wealthiest men that once lived do we even know or still remember today? A pathetic end I'll say considering all your life's hard work.

So Christ is saying, while you're at it, lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, which are 'good memories' that will always be remembered, which neither moth nor rust can corrupt and thieves cannot break through to steal them because they are stored in the heart of men and God.

Good memories are indeed the treasures of heaven!

The worst thing that can happen to a man is to be forgotten after living.
The greatest blessing of life is to be remembered long after living.
When there is remembrance, the subject of the memory lives on.
The great minds of old knew this, so they worked hard and did extraordinary things to keep their memories alive. This is why we still remember father Abraham, prophet Elijah, prophet Mohammed, and many great men that once lived.

Blessed are they that lay up for themselves treasures in heaven(good memories), for they shall live and have their place among the living forever.
