Dance as long as the music still plays

The philosopher Alan Watt once said that life is like a dance. He is right!
The universe is playful. It does not have to go anywhere to arrive anywhere. It exists exactly where it should be. Just like us.

When we travel, we try to arrive somewhere. It's completely different in music. Here we are not waiting for the final second of the song. Otherwise, the most successful songs would be those that are the fastest to finish. A song of 30 seconds would be better than one that lasts 4 minutes. People would then only hear the last seconds of the song, as it would only be about the end.

When we dance, we do not dance to arrive in a certain corner of the room, but just to dance. And so it is with the music. We hear a song because we like it and because we want to hear it.

So life wants to be danced. But we often do not take it that way. Instead, we often have the impression that it is about reaching and working through different stages of life. Started with kindergarten through elementary school and secondary school and then best to study.

Many work years ago to finally sit in the lecture hall and receive a reasonable education. Those who do not study make an education that prepares for life. After completing your studies or training, you then go out into the world of work.

And there's always something we have to work towards. One after the other. If we have the promotion or salary increase in the bag, it goes on and on and on. And then we finally arrived where we want to arrive. Great right?

Strangely enough, it does not feel any different than before. You have everything you wanted and you are still not happy. Just aged a bit.

Anyone who works only to earn money and lives to retire at some point has no energy at all. What would then be the next station: nursing home? That would be really sad, right?

Life is not a journey that takes us somewhere. Over and over again. Graduation, success, weddings, retirement or maybe even the afterlife. It's not about enjoying the last seconds of the song.

The whole life is a dance. We have to dance while the music is playing.
