She's Just Not That Into You - Penny Parker | A commentary

I came across this commenter on youtube a week or so ago. She is a Canadian actress who used to post but I believe that life has kept her busy. I was amazed at how high the production values were on her videos. She is backlit, and has good use of background music. This is not a selfie in front of the bathroom mirror production.

With regard to the content of her video:

There is a form of love called limerence. It is measured by the frequency that you think about your other. This is especially common when relationship starts. People can text and email so easily now, that this limerence can be like a narcotic especially when people meet on dating sites. It makes it particularly hard on some people because they get this frequent supply of "love drug" ... and then they meet in real life. Even before the tech age people who were serially depressive would meet someone, have high limerence and then as familiarity would depress the high would move onto the next person. Meanwhile if the other person is still limerent ... "they be stupid". They continue to have the love will conquer all mentality. The ex mentioned in this was giving a fixed schedule of reinforcement. He frequently would reward you (bring you flowers or write love letters) with no connection to your behavior. Guys who are "jerks" or "bad boys" give rewards on a random basis. This "Intermittent reinforcement schedule" when applied to lab rats make them develop superstition behaviour. If you look at baseball players, you see superstition behaviour

Winning is random to the subconscious so people develop behaviours if they coincide with receiving a reward. Often people will say that they don't want to play mind games ... which means they don't want to have the other person play mind games on them. They tend to be the most avid mind game players.
