It's a Chinese symbol that signifies balance. An all white side with a black dot and an all black side with a white dot. They compliment each other to form a whole circle.
Just like life...
The wheel of life rotates on and on,
But what it really entails?
Half of good and the other, the opposite of good, ...
In life , there is neither a bed of roses,
Nor is their a garden of thorns.
There is neither everlasting moment of happiness,
Nor is there everlasting moments of sadness.
Each entity is interwoven into the other.
Accept that as the basics of life and you can do things...
It's just the default of life.
